Colonial Adventure Camp: July 27th to 31st

Has your child ever wondered what it was like to live in the Colonial Period? At the Chadds Ford Historical Society’s new Colonial Adventure Summer Camp, your child will get a first hand look at how people survived without electricity, AC, and even iPhones….

As part of this unique experience, our campers will make native American bracelets and clay pots, while also learning how to track animals like the local Lenape Native Americans did. They will also get to tour two 18th century houses, test their skills in colonial games such as graces and hoop and stick, bake bread in a beehive oven, create their own herbal tea from a colonial recipe, and master the art of spying using techniques and tools from the Revolutionary War. All of this will be included with more in a fun packed week that will leave your child thinking why people ever moved on from the 1700s.
