The Great Pumpkin Carve - "Virtual" for 2020
The 2020 "Virtual Pumpkin Carve" event is FREE of charge. All we ask is that carvers send their photos and list of carvers directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can be as creative as you want with props and backdrops. With so much canceled this year, why not make this a fun filled family event. We are hoping that 2021 will allow us to be back to our regular layout, but for now, join us in keeping the Chadds Ford Historical Society alive.
Below are the guidelines and instuctions for the carvers this year. Good luck and happy carving.
* Note: Carvers need to provide their own pumpkins, any shape, size or color will be allowed. H. G. Haskell, the owner of SIW Vegetables in Chadds Ford and supplier of our pumpkins, has many shapes and sizes for purchase. He also has some enormous ones that can be special ordered by texting him directly on his cell 610-715-7688. A wonderful way to support a local business and get a great pumpkin, too!
October 1st - 20th : Carvers will submit their carved "creations" by emailing photos, the carvers' names and the city & state where the carving took place to email@example.com
October 21st - 31st : Starting October 21st, photos of the carved pumpkins will be posted to our Facebook page for "spectators" to see this year's carvings and VOTE for their favorite pumpkins through Oct 31st.
How to Vote for Your Favorite Pumpkin:
There will be 2 ways for "spectators" to vote this year via Facebook...
Between Oct 21st - Oct 31st:
1) Starting October 21st, vote for your favorite pumpkin via "The Great Pumpkin Carve of Chadds Ford" Facebook page with the use of the "Like" option. The pumpkin with the most "Likes" at the end of the day, Saturday, October 31st, will win the People's Choice Award.
2) Carvers will encourage friends, "fans", and spectators via Facebook to make a donation of any amount to the Chadds Ford Historical Society as a way of voting for their carved pumpkin. All pumpkin carving entries are posted on "The Chadds Ford Historical Society" Facebook page, inluding photos and videos for each entry. The pumpkin that raises the most in donations through the end of the day, Saturday, October 31st, will win the "Help Keep Chadds Ford History Alive" Award.
