MAY

NEW EXHIBIT OPENING
Friday, May 16 2008 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Official opening of "Through Artist's Eyes" at the Barn. Free to all members of the public.

 

HISTORIC HOUSES OPEN

The John Chads’ House is open May 3 to September 7, and features beehive oven baking most weekends. The Barns-Brinton House is open May 24 to August 30. Tours are given weekends only, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission fee for non-members.

 

  FAMILY FUN DAY
Saturday, May 17 1pm - 5pm


Join us at the John Chads’ House for a day full of educational activities geared for all ages: baking, candlemaking, rug braiding, etc.

CHADDS FORD DAYS
Saturday, September 6  11am - 7pm
Sunday,    September 7  11am - 5pm


Free admission. Visit this annual outdoor fair with a "colonial flair" featuring crafts, antiques, and local Brandywine Valley art. Enjoy food by local restaurants, a colonial tavern with beer & wine, rides, games, live music, and entertainment. Held on the grounds of the Barn Visitors Center.



OCTOBER

THE GREAT PUMPKIN CARVE
Thursday, October 23
through
Saturday, October 25, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.


On Thursday local artists carve huge pumpkins. Enjoy the candlelit pumpkins, hay rides, music, and food each night. This event is held outdoors at the Barn Visitors Center. Admission charged.



DECEMBER

CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS
Saturday, December 6, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Enjoy this self-guided holiday tour of historic house museums and private homes sponsored by the Historical Society, now in its 22nd year. Tickets required.
