Chadds Ford Historical Society's Exhibit

Through Artist's Eyes

We’re having a celebration! Forty years ago the Chadds Ford Historical Society purchased the crumbling John Chads’ House and the collapsing Barns-Brinton House and restored them to their
pre-Revolutionary War condition. To mark this occasion we are having an art exhibit which will show the historic buildings through the eyes of artists. It will include works by Andrew Wyeth, Barclay Rubicam, other area artists and craftspeople.

We want to include the work of a student artist in this exhibit. Students in grades 1-12 are invited to enter their interpretation of John Chads’ House, its Springhouse or the Barns-Brinton House.
One student’s work will be selected to hang in the exhibit which will run from May to December of 2008. The winning artist will also receive a gift certificate for art supplies from Rubinstein’s.
Note: age and grade level will be considered in determining the selection.
