MUSIC at Battle at Chadds Ford ~ Historic Chadds Ford Days
KENNY THOMPSON & FRIENDS
You probably know Kenny Thompson from at least one of his countless gigs: with David Bromberg’s superb original 4W5 Sessions, The Benders with Steve Black and Marc Moss, Marlboro Music Fest finalists Cross Fork, on the Media Blues and Roots Rambles schedules, encouraging players of all levels at his open stages, or sitting in with Sin City and other local favorites throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware during the past three decades. He is a masterful pianist, guitarist, singer and occasional songwriter whose strength is Americana and Country-tinged Blues.
THE CAMPTOWN SHAKERS
The Camptown Shakers bring the popular songs and tunes from America’s bygone to new audiences of today in the spirit of Sankofa. Sankofa is an African concept that teaches it is good to retrieve things of value from our past and bring them forward. This music, from the likes of Stephen Foster, Dan Emmet and others, songwriters and performers who stirred America’s melting pot, is performed using the instruments and playing styles accurate to that period. Dave Kirchner from Fallston, MD, and Dave Culgan from West Grove, PA sing and play fiddle and early style fretless banjos.
